Lumos partners with WellStreet Urgent Care to advance FebriDx® testing

Lumos Diagnostics Holdings Ltd (ASX:LDX, OTC:LDXHF) has signed an agreement with WellStreet Urgent Care to advance testing and reimbursement pathways for its FebriDx® rapid host-response test through WellStreet’s joint venture with Piedmont Urgent Care in Atlanta, Georgia.

Deployment is slated to begin in October 2025.

“We are excited to partner with WellStreet to bring FebriDx® into a high-throughput, clinically integrated setting,” Lumos Diagnostics CEO Doug Ward said. “This agreement will greatly assist in laying the groundwork for a scalable national roll-out, pending CLIA waiver. We also greatly value the role of PHASE Scientific and Pro-spectus in aiding in the rollout of this program.”

Refining workflow and engagement

Under the program, FebriDx will be used at a Piedmont Urgent Care site that sees around 50 respiratory-infection patients per day, generating the volume and operational data needed to refine workflow and payer engagement.

WellStreet will procure FebriDx via PHASE Scientific and submit reimbursement claims for each test, while Pro-spectus will manage billing data and claims analysis to assess reimbursement outcomes.

“This collaboration with Lumos to implement FebriDx® at one of our busiest urgent care centers reflects WellStreet’s ongoing commitment to operational excellence and innovative patient care. The ability to embed a rapid respiratory test into our workflows aligns with our core mission to deliver high-quality health care across our network,” WellStreet Urgent Care chief operating officer and chief medical officer Dr Michael Duchynski said.

The evidence gathered is intended to support the development of robust coverage policies with national insurers. Contingent on a CLIA waiver grant for FebriDx, Lumos and WellStreet plan to leverage this pilot as the foundation for a nationwide rollout across roughly 140 WellStreet urgent care locations in the United States.

About WellStreet

The company operates more than 150 centers with strong patient-experience scores and wait times that beat the industry average. Its centers are clinically integrated with partner electronic medical records to support care coordination and give patients and care teams a complete view of treatment.
