Nscale and Microsoft Corp (NASDAQ:MSFT) have expanded their partnership to roll out AI infrastructure on both sides of the Atlantic, in what they said was one of the largest such contracts ever to be signed.
The pair agreed to install around 200,000 Nvidia Corp (NASDAQ:NVDA, ETR:NVD) graphics processing units (GPUs) across Europe and the US.
Rolling these AI chips out will involve Nscale's own operations and its joint venture with Norwegian industrial investment company Aker.
It also builds on July's plans between Nscale and Microsoft to deliver the UK’s largest AI supercomputer at the UK's AI campus in Essex, to support Microsoft’s Azure cloud services in the UK.
Today's agreement includes major deployments in the UK, Texas, USA, Portugal and Norway, also supporting Microsoft Azure services.
In Texas, Nscale will deliver over 100,000 GPUs from a 240MW site, with future expansion planned to 1.2GW.
In Europe, delivery will begin in early 2026, including sovereign EU AI solutions from Portugal and Norway.
"This agreement confirms Nscale’s place as a partner of choice for the world’s most important technology leaders,” said Nscale CEO Josh Payne.
"Few companies are equipped to deliver GPU deployments at this scale, but we have the experience and have built the global pipeline to do so."
Microsoft’s Jon Tinter added that the partnership "demonstrates our commitment to ensuring that our products are available globally with sustainability and scalability in mind".
