Highland Critical Minerals Corp (CSE:HLND) earlier this week outlined upcoming exploration activities across its Canadian project portfolio, with an emphasis on its Sy and Red Lake properties.
The company said it will begin work at the Sy property in Nunavut with a review of historical geological and geophysical data.
Director Brian Morales noted that the most recent technical report is approximately 18 years old and requires a full reassessment in light of current gold prices and advances in exploration technology.
Following the data review, Highland plans to launch an onsite geophysics campaign to identify new drill targets. It also sees potential to expand its footprint in the region.
The company highlighted that technological improvements — including the use of drones and magnetic surveys — have significantly changed the way exploration is conducted and lowered the cost structure.
Morales also provided an update on the Red Lake property, where geophysics and magnetic survey work has been carried out over the summer. The company collected 60 grab samples, which are currently being processed in the lab. Results are expected in the fourth quarter of 2025.
Highland said it aims to maintain a steady stream of news to the market by progressing its portfolio assets at different times of the year. The company recently completed its summer program at the Church lithium property and will use the coming months to evaluate next steps, though further fieldwork there is unlikely before spring 2026 due to weather.
Morales said: “We’re trying to build a portfolio of assets where we can continually drive news flow all year round.”
The company added that it will continue data analysis and groundwork at Sy throughout the winter, in preparation for more field activity in the new year.
