Princes Group, the food and beverage giant behind iconic British brands like Branston pickle and Batchelors, has announced plans to list on the London Stock Exchange's Main Market, marking a significant milestone for the Liverpool-based company.
The business, which generated £2.1 billion in revenue last year, operates across five key divisions: Foods, Fish, Italian, Oils, and Drinks. Its impressive brand portfolio also includes Napolina, Flora, and Crisp 'N Dry, alongside its famous Princes tuna that's graced British cupboards for generations.
CEO Simon Harrison emphasised the company's ambitious vision: "At Princes Group we combine a rich heritage dating back nearly 150 years with a dynamic entrepreneurial mindset to bring great-tasting products at great value to consumers in the UK, Europe and beyond."
The IPO represents a strategic move to raise fresh capital for acquisitions rather than existing shareholders cashing out. Executive chair Angelo Mastrolia explained: "As we did with the successful listing of Newlat Food in 2019, we are not selling any shares. Instead, we are raising new capital to accelerate our growth strategy."
Headquartered in Liverpool's landmark Royal Liver Building, which the company recently purchased, Princes operates 23 production facilities across the UK, continental Europe, and Mauritius, employing approximately 7,800 staff. The group exports to over 60 countries and serves more than 8,000 customers globally.
Harrison added that listing represents "a natural next step in our journey," providing the platform needed to expand internationally and strengthen the company's position as one of Europe's leading food and drinks businesses.
