Market movers: Tilray Brands, Delta, Akero Therapeutics...

Serve Robotics Inc (NASDAQ: SERV) shares powered 26% higher to $17.27 in midday trading on Thursday after the autonomous sidewalk delivery company announced a new multi-year strategic partnership with DoorDash to roll out autonomous robot deliveries across the US.

The agreement will see Serve’s autonomous sidewalk robots begin delivering orders placed via the DoorDash app in Los Angeles first before expanding nationwide over time.

China has tightened export controls on rare earths and other materials critical for advanced tech manufacturing, in a move that appears to be a key bargaining chip ahead of an expected meeting between China’s Xi Jinping and US President Donald Trump this month, the BBC reported on Thursday.

China’s government added five rare-earth elements, including holmium, erbium, thulium, europium, ytterbium, and related magnets and materials, to its existing control list, requiring export licenses.

Tilray Inc (NASDAQ:TLRY) shares climbed 15% to US$1.98 in early trading on Thursday after the cannabis company announced that it swung to an adjusted net profit of $3.9 million for its fiscal first quarter 2025, from loss of $6.1 million during the same period last year.

Its net revenue for the quarter rose 5% to $209.5 million, boosted by a 12% year over year increase in Canadian adult-use cannabis sales and 10% growth in international cannabis revenue.

Delta Air Lines Inc (NYSE:DAL) shares rose almost 7% on Thursday after the company reported stronger-than-expected third quarter 2025 results and raised its full-year earnings guidance.

The airline posted adjusted revenue of $15.2 billion for the September quarter, up 4.1% from a year earlier and slightly ahead of analyst estimates of $15.08 billion.

Novo Nordisk (NYSE:NVO) announced it is acquiring Akero Therapeutics (NASDAQ: AKRO) for a potential total of up to $5.2 billion, strengthening its pipeline in metabolic diseases.

Under the terms of the agreement, Novo Nordisk will pay $54 per share in cash, valuing Akero at approximately $4.7 billion upfront.

Challenger Energy Group PLC (AIM:CEG, OTCQB:BSHPF) shares charged higher on Thursday after it agreed to an all-share acquisition by Sintana Energy Inc (TSX-V:SEI, OTCQB:SEUSF) valuing the London-listed business at around £45 million (or C$84 million).

It will see Challenger shareholders receive 0.4705 new Sintana shares for each share in the AIM-listed company that they own, meaning together they will own around 25% of the combined group.

Petro Matad Limited (AIM:MATD, OTC:PRTDF) shares soared in Thursday's early trade after its Gazelle-1 well, in Mongolia, exceeded expectations during testing, flowing up to 460 barrels of oil per day without artificial lift.

The well is now being prepared for production, with completion and installation of surface facilities underway.

Genflow Biosciences PLC (LSE:GENF, OTCQB:GENFF) shares jumped 88% on Thursday after the longevity-focused biotech firm announced a £440,000 fundraising that it said was more favourable to shareholders than a previously proposed deal.

The company scrapped an earlier subscription agreement announced on 2 October, instead opting for an alternative transaction in which chief executive Eric Leire subscribed for 40 million new shares at 1.1p each, the closing bid price on 8 October.
