The Market Wrap: Positive finish to the day as small caps outperform

The S&P/ASX 200 finished Thursday in positive territory, up 22.20 points, or 0.25%, to 8,969.80. Leaders on the day were Nickel Industries Limited and Capstone Copper Corporation, rising 8.67% and 7.59% respectively. Over the past five sessions, the benchmark has gained 0.27% and sits 0.94% below its 52-week peak.

The S&P/ASX Small Ordinaries Index (XSO) outperformed, advancing 24.30 points, or 0.63%, to 3,863.40 today and lifting 2.09% over five days.
