FireFly Metals Ltd (ASX:FFM, TSX:FFM, OTC:MNXMF) managing director Steve Parsons talked with Proactive about the latest copper and gold assay results from the Green Bay Project in Newfoundland, Canada.
Parsons said a flurry of strong results had started coming in after the North American summer break, showcasing "good strong continuity, big, wide, high-grade intersections" from infill drilling. These new assays reinforce the robust nature of the Green Bay deposit, with significant grades in both copper and gold.
"We're pretty lucky at Green Bay... there's intersections of 4.5 metres at 19 grams per tonne gold, 10 metres at 4.5 grams per tonne gold, and 8 metres at nearly six grams per tonne gold — all in amongst the copper," Parsons told Proactive.
The current results are laying the foundation for a Mineral Resource Assessment (MRA), expected later this quarter. According to Parsons, both step-out and infill drilling results are pending, and regional exploration is already underway targeting new discoveries around Green Bay.
Importantly, Parsons emphasised that drilling is ongoing, with eight rigs active on site and more results expected shortly. The company plans to release an updated resource estimate before the end of the year.
