Surefire Resources Chief Executive Officer Paul Burton talked with Proactive about the company’s exploration plans at its 100%-owned Kadji Gold Project in Western Australia.
Burton explained that previous explorers, including BHP and Anaconda, had identified significant gold anomalies in the region but did not follow up due to the gold price environment at the time. “We’re in a very fortunate position to be able to go directly to these anomalies, some of which represent walk-up drill targets,” he said.
He highlighted that Surefire will be applying modern exploration techniques to assess which of these anomalies may indicate potential deposits. The project lies within the Yilgarn Craton, one of Australia’s most prolific gold-producing regions, yet Burton noted that the Kadji area has seen little modern gold exploration.
He added that improved low-detection geochemical methods have enabled the company to revisit and capitalize on historical data that was previously overlooked due to deep weathering and magnetite presence.
With gold prices recently reaching record highs, Surefire plans to advance its exploration program rapidly and expects to deliver further updates soon.
