United Microelectronics Corp’s September sales allowed the company to have a “strong" finish to the third quarter of 2025, Wedbush analysts wrote in a note to clients on Tuesday.
They cited better-than-expected demand for PCs, which appear to have created improvement in demand trends for mature foundry.
United Microelectronics’ sales of $59.13 billion during the quarter, which also benefitted from favorable foreign exchange movements, exceeded their prior Q3 forecast by 3.3%.
The analysts, though, maintained their ‘Neutral’ rating on the stock while keeping their target price at $43 Taiwan New Dollars (NT) per share.
“While better PC (and seemingly Apple) results are helping at the margin, we still don't yet see evidence of a wider pickup across mature foundry end markets (industrial, auto, IoT, Chinese handsets, etc.) that's likely to yield a return to peak utilization levels for the industry," they wrote.
