Askari Metals Executive Director Gino D’Anna talked with Proactive about the company’s upcoming drilling activities across its African exploration portfolio, including the Nejo Project in Ethiopia and the Uis Project in Namibia.
Askari Metals is raising A$1.5 million to fund a maiden 3,000- to 5,000-metre drilling campaign targeting the Guji, Komto 1 and Komto 2 gold prospects along the Guji-Gudeya trend, a ten-kilometre-long mineralised corridor that remains open in both directions. D’Anna said this program will “replicate and validate the historical exploration that’s been done” while stepping out along strike to test for shallow, high-grade gold mineralisation.
He added that regulatory approvals have now been received from the Federal Ministry of Mines in Ethiopia and the Oromia Mineral Development Authority, clearing the way for field mobilisation around 20 October.
Meanwhile, the Uis Project in Namibia remains a core asset for Askari Metals, located near Andrada Mining’s tin operations. The next phase of work will involve initial drilling across pegmatite targets to assess potential for lithium, tin, tantalum, and other rare metals.
D’Anna said the company is “very excited by the potential for exploration news flow to come,” as it gears up for a busy period of fieldwork across both jurisdictions.
