Kairos Minerals Ltd (ASX:KAI, OTCQB:KAIFF) has reported another set of strong drilling results from its flagship Mt York Gold Project in Western Australia’s Pilbara region, extending mineralisation at the Main Hill prospect and underscoring the growth potential of its 1.4-million-ounce resource.
The latest 10 diamond holes returned high-grade intercepts both near surface and at depth, expanding the so-called Monster Zone a further 250 metres to the east and confirming that gold mineralisation remains open at depth.
Key results highlight system scale
Among the standout assays were:
- 23 metres at 2.18 g/t gold from 131 metres, including 9 metres at 4.44 g/t from 138 metres (hole 25MYDD044)
- 16 metres at 1.53 g/t from 24 metres and 15 metres at 3.20 g/t from 89 metres (25MYDD050)
- 20 metres at 1.32 g/t from 323 metres, including 6 metres at 3.04 g/t from 325 metres (25MYDD052)

Kairos said the results reinforce the consistency and scale of mineralisation within the 3-kilometre-long Mt York trend, with higher-grade shoots continuing to appear at depth. The company has now completed 68 holes for about 18,000 metres under its Stage 1 program, which will be expanded from 20,000 to 30,000 metres based on the strong results.
Managing director Dr Peter Turner said the drilling had demonstrated “impressive, wide and higher-grade mineralisation from surface at the top of the hill to depths of 300 metres”, suggesting the system extends well below current levels of testing.
“This raises the question again about how big the resource can grow to at Mt York as we look at depth extensions of higher-grade intercepts below current drilling and the additional 1,500-metre strike length of the Mt York mineralised stratigraphy… that we are negotiating access to.”

Resource update and further drilling under way
The new results validate Kairos’ revised structural model, which predicts lateral extensions of thick gold zones across Main Hill and other prospects within the Mt York corridor. Deeper holes such as 25MYDD052 and earlier standout intercepts — including 53 metres at 1.45 g/t from 212 metres (25MYDD031) — continue to point to a large, continuous system with open-pit and underground potential.

Drilling on PLS licence E45/2241 is subject to finalising a mineral rights agreement with PLS and then fulfilling relevant terms and conditions thereunder. With gold mineralisation open in all directions, Kairos plans to accelerate drilling through the remainder of 2025 to feed into an updated mineral resource estimate. Additional results from ongoing drilling are expected through October and November.
Next steps
The company will:
- Complete the expanded Stage 1 drilling campaign;
- Progress approval for drilling on the Main Hill Extension area on Pilbara Minerals Ltd’s ground;
- Advance mining agreement negotiations with the Nyamal Aboriginal Corporation; and
- Commence advanced metallurgical test work to support future development studies.
Kairos’ Mt York project, previously mined by Lynas Gold NL in the 1990s, continues to emerge as one of the Pilbara’s most substantial undeveloped gold assets. A 2024 scoping study outlined a potential 4-million-tonne-per-annum open-pit operation over eight years, with the latest drilling expected to further enhance both scale and confidence in the deposit.
