Asian Battery Metals PLC (ASX:AZ9) has extended mineralisation at its Oval copper-nickel-platinum group elements (PGE) discovery in western Mongolia and identified new high-conductance electromagnetic (EM) targets, reinforcing the district-scale potential of the broader Yambat Project.
The Phase 3 drilling campaign has now completed 16 holes for a total of 2,530 metres, confirming extensions to the main Oval system and uncovering multiple new conductor plates at nearby prospects.

“Each phase of drilling continues to strengthen our understanding of the Yambat system,” said managing director Gan-Ochir Zunduisuren.
“Oval has all the hallmarks of a significant copper–nickel discovery, and the identification of new conductors at Bayan Sair and Copper Ridge points to a district-scale opportunity,” he added. “We’re systematically de-risking what could be one of Asia’s next major magmatic sulphide systems.”

Mineralisation extended at Oval
Drillhole OVD048 intersected 16 metres of mineralised mafic intrusion from near surface, extending mineralisation by about 30 metres up-dip to the north.
An extended hole, OVD011E, confirmed continuity of sulphide mineralisation and identified a deep conductive plate with a conductance of 8,665 Siemens, further supporting the company’s feeder-conduit model for the intrusion.
Together with other recent holes, the results point to a vertically extensive, robust Cu–Ni–PGE system.
Depth extensions at MS1
At the MS1 intrusion, drillhole SC11 intersected 29.6 metres of disseminated sulphides at depth, suggesting stronger mineralisation may occur in deeper zones. Downhole EM modelling revealed off-hole conductors that will be tested in the upcoming Phase 4 program.

These outcomes extend mineralisation beyond the main Oval system and highlight the potential for additional Cu–Ni targets across the Yambat district.
New targets at Bayan Sair and Copper Ridge
Recent fixed- and moving-loop EM surveys have identified multiple new high-priority conductors coincident with magnetic highs and favourable structures.
- Bayan Sair: A 294 Siemens conductor (LP801_P1) sits on the margin of a large magnetic anomaly, a strong indicator of potential sulphide mineralisation.
- Copper Ridge: A high-conductance 10,534 Siemens plate (L50000_P1) lies along the edge of a magnetic high, suggesting possible sulphide accumulation.

Next steps
Asian Battery Metals expects assay results from the current program within two weeks. Ongoing work includes:
- Due-diligence drilling at the Maikhan Uul Cu–Au VMS project ahead of potential acquisition;
- Continued interpretation of new EM data at the Bayan Sair tenement;
- A mineralogy study across composite samples; and
- Initial metallurgical testing following that study.
The company says the combination of expanding mineralised zones and multiple new conductor targets underscores the Yambat Project’s growing potential as a significant magmatic copper-nickel-PGE system in Mongolia’s emerging mineral belt.
