Aberdeen Group may offer more upside - analyst

Aberdeen Group PLC (LSE:ABDN) could offer more upside, according to analysts at Deutsche Bank, which repeated a 'Buy' rating and lifted the asset manager's price target to 245p from 240p.

It comes as the German bank's analysts mulled valuation methods for assessing the fund manager.

“Aberdeen remains a hard stock to call… We believe there could be more value upside under a more radical scenario,” DB analyst David McCann said

McCann pointed to the upcoming appointment of a new chairman as a potential catalyst, depending on their strategic direction for the group.

Near-term execution risk remains, however, the analyst also cautioned in the note.

In London, Aberdeen shares were priced at 206.75p on Monday.
