Lightning Minerals Managing Director Alex Biggs talked with Proactive about the company’s latest strategic developments, including the appointment of David Vilensky as chairman and ongoing exploration at the Mt Turner gold project.
Biggs said the addition of Vilensky — formerly chairman of Latin Resources during a AU$560 million transaction — represents a strong endorsement of the company’s direction. “He brings a huge amount of experience to the team,” Biggs said. “It definitely demonstrates our intent and aspiration. We’re here to grow this business and do what we need to do for our shareholders.”
He discussed progress at Mt Turner, where drilling began recently targeting gold mineralisation along the 14-kilometre-long Drummer Fault. Biggs noted that the region has significant potential, with historic mining activity and strong gold and silver market conditions. “We’re excited with what we’re seeing and expect this program to be a catalyst for the business,” he added.
In addition to Mt Turner, Lightning Minerals maintains exposure to multiple commodities, including copper at Mount Vernon and lithium assets in Brazil. Biggs said this diversified portfolio provides a natural hedge against market volatility while positioning the company to benefit from growth across key metals sectors.
