The ASX200 was down today, shedding about .16%. Materials and industrials managed to stay afloat, whilst every other sector plunged in negative territory.

Altech Batteries had a stellar day on news it's entered a strategic collaboration with China’s AMPower to distribute sodium nickel chloride batteries in Australia, Europe and the US.
And Orthocell was also up after appointing its first Canadian distributor for the Remplir nerve repair device ahead of a formal launch in Vancouver this October. The agreement covers Alberta and British Columbia, with additional regions planned.

Newmont Corporation (ASX:NEM) plunged on news its CEO Tom Palmer has resigned.
And 29Metals (ASX:29M) was also down after reporting another seismic event in relation to its Golden Grove mine site in Western Australia which could impact its zinc production.
