Light Science Technologies Holdings PLC (AIM:LST) gave investors something to cheer about this morning after announcing that its Passive Fire Protection division has secured accreditation under the Building Safety Act.
Shore Capital called the certification “another positive” for the unit, which has been growing strongly since its acquisition in late 2023. The shares rose 3.5% to 4.04p in afternoon trading.
The approval, granted through the Construction Online platform, confirms the division’s competence in both standard construction and higher-risk buildings over 18 metres.
Shore said this should help unlock new contract wins, with the division able to scale capacity quickly and cost-effectively. The quoted pipeline of work stands at about £28 million.
The division installs Injectaclad, a retrofitted system designed to reinstate fire resistance in building cavities.
Shore highlighted that it is cheaper and less disruptive than removing and replacing external facades, making it an attractive option for landlords grappling with non-compliant stock.
Recent durability tests showed Injectaclad has a 50-year lifespan, three times the industry standard, which the broker believes should boost awareness and sales.
