ANGLE PLC (AIM:AGL, OTCQX:ANPCY) announced new clinical data showing circulating tumour cells were detected in glioblastoma patients using its Parsortix system.
Results from a proof-of-concept study were presented at the Advances in Circulating Tumour Cells meeting held from 24–27 September 2025 in Thessaloniki, Greece.
The study analysed blood from 15 newly diagnosed, untreated patients.
Circulating tumour cells were identified in 60% of cases, while clusters with high metastatic potential were observed in 78% of CTC-positive patients. The company said extracellular vesicles were detected in 73% of subjects, supporting potential for minimally invasive monitoring.
"These results demonstrate the capability of the Parsortix label-free system to capture and characterise CTCs in GBM where ctDNA approaches have struggled," said ANGLE chief scientific officer Karen Miller.
"This creates the opportunity to start monitoring GBM patients using proteomic and molecular biomarkers during their treatment, as well as support pharma companies developing new drugs for this cancer."
Broker Cavendish noted: "These latest data in a new cancer type further reinforce the clinical utility of Parsortix and should support ANGLE’s ongoing commercial discussions with large pharma and med-tech diagnostic companies."
Its analysts reckon the stock is worth 11p, a significant premium to the current price of 2.89p (down 4% on the day).
