Elixir Energy (ASX:EXR)
Elixir Energy is about to hit a key drilling milestone in Queensland. Its joint venture partner, Xstate Resources, has confirmed the Diona-1 well will spud at five o’clock this Friday in the Surat-Bowen Basin. The rig is already on site and ready to go. This well is designed to test three known hydrocarbon formations, with the main Showgrounds target expected at about 2,300 metres in the first week. If things go as planned, drilling will continue to more than 2,600 metres — with the entire program expected to wrap up in under 15 days.
Tamboran Resources (ASX:TBN)
Tamboran Resources has delivered a record-breaking quarter in the Beetaloo Basin. Its Shenandoah South 2H sidetrack posted basin-record 30-, 60- and 90-day flow rates from a 5,400-foot horizontal section in the Mid Velkerri B shale. The well finished the 90-day program at 6.5 million cubic feet per day, with flow rates rising two per cent in the final month without intervention. Management says the strong, flat decline curve reinforces the commercial potential of Tamboran’s acreage ahead of first gas sales in 2026.
