The S&P/ASX 200 edged higher today, adding 12.70 points or 0.14% to close at 8,777.20. Copper miners led the charge, with Capstone Copper surging 10.12% and Sandfire Resources climbing 7.60%. Over the past five sessions, the benchmark is up 0.37% but remains 3.06% below its 52-week peak.
The S&P/ASX Small Ordinaries slipped 0.32% to 3,675.70, extending a five-day decline of 0.24%.
