Blue Star Capital PLC (LSE:BLU) shares traded positively on Wednesday as it told investors that Vortex, a decentralised exchange incubated by SatoshiPay, launched an upgraded website, widget and API platform.
SatoshiPay, which is 50%-owned by Blue Star, deployed an initial US$20,000 liquidity contribution to Vortex DeFi via Pendulum, its blockchain project for modernising traditional financial infrastructure.
It added that SatoshiPay is seeking complementary commercial partnerships to its Vortex project and is in talks with several payment service providers (PSPs), wallet developers, and on/off ramp aggregators.
"Today's announcement demonstrates the ongoing progress being made by SatoshiPay and its portfolio businesses," said executive chair Tony Fabrizi, who added: "In particular, the improved platform and infrastructure should allow Vortex to deliver strong growth over the remainder of 2025."
Blue Star shares opened strongly, reaching around 17p in early exchanges, and by mid-morning were changing hands at 14.95p, up around 1.4% for the session.
