Tertiary Minerals says A1 could become 'significant' silver discovery as latest results extends footprint

Tertiary Minerals PLC (AIM:TYM, OTC:TTIRF) reported further drilling results from its Mushima North project in Zambia.

It sees the further extension of the project's A1 silver target, where the footprint now spans at least 350x300 metres, with the mineralisation described as open to the north and south.

Managing director Richard Belcher noted that the findings support the continuation of the near-surface, thick mineralisation to the north over a substantial width.

"The new results continue to define higher grade silver intersections within the broader silver-copper-zinc mineralisation," Belcher said in a statement.

He added: "The grade continuity along and between holes is excellent and the results further support our bulk tonnage, open pit silver exploration model.

"The additional analytical results expected over the coming weeks are from holes that tested the continuation of the mineralisation to both the north and south."

Belcher highlighted that mineralogical and metallurgical studies are now underway.

It could become a significant discovery for the company, he told investors.

Drilling details

Three new holes at Target A1 confirmed the northerly continuation of thick, near-surface silver mineralisation across a 300-metre width.

Silver has now been intersected over a 350-metre by 300-metre area, with mineralisation still open to the north, south and at depth.

Highlights included 64 metres at 26 grams per tonne silver, 0.13% copper and 0.21% zinc from 2 metres depth, and 44 metres at 39 grams per tonne silver, 0.17% copper and 0.37% zinc from 8 metres.

Higher-grade intervals were also recorded, including 15 metres at 63 grams per tonne silver.
