The S&P/ASX 200 fell sharply today, sliding 89.5 points, or 1.01%, to 8,756.40, breaking below its 50-day moving average. Atlas Arteria and Telix Pharmaceuticals were the weakest performers, down 5.40% and 5.01% respectively. The benchmark has shed 0.70% over the past five sessions and now sits 3.29% under its 52-week peak.

The S&P/ASX Small Ordinaries closed at 3,686.50, down 14.80 points or 0.40% today, though the index remains up 37.60 points or 1.03% over the past five sessions.
