Highfield Resources Ltd (ASX:HFR) has reshaped its board, as it now turns a stronger focus on its Spanish operations and flagship Muga potash project.
EMR-nominated non-executive director Luke Anderson stepped down from the board on September 23, 2025, to take up a full-time executive position with another organisation. Anderson joined Highfield in September 2023 and served on both the Audit, Business Risk, and Compliance Committee and the Remuneration and Nomination Committee.
Chairman Paul Harris thanked Anderson for his “dedication and valuable contribution to Highfield”, noting he had been a highly respected member of the board during a period of significant corporate activity.
Replacing him is Carles Aleman, director general of Highfield’s wholly owned Spanish subsidiary, Geoalcali SLU. Aleman joined Geoalcali in 2023 as head of plant construction and HSE for the Muga project and was promoted to director general in May 2025. Based in Pamplona, he oversees all Spanish operations and manages relations with national and regional government stakeholders.
Aleman brings more than 30 years’ international leadership experience across the chemical and mining industries. Before joining Highfield, he was president of ICL Iberia from 2017.
Highfield Resources chairman Paul Harris said Aleman was already making a “significant contribution” through his on-the-ground leadership and local stakeholder engagement in Spain.
“We are delighted that he will be joining the Highfield Board,” Harris said.
Following the appointment, Highfield’s board now comprises independent non-executive chairman Paul Harris, independent non-executive director Pauline Carr and executive director Carles Aleman. As Aleman fills a casual vacancy, he will stand for election by shareholders at the company’s next annual general meeting in May 2026.
The board changes underline Highfield’s commitment to strengthening its leadership team as the Muga potash project advances through construction and regulatory milestones in northern Spain.
