T-Mobile appoints Srini Gopalan as new CEO

T-Mobile US Inc (NASDAQ:TMUS, ETR:TM5) on Monday announced that it has named Srini Gopalan, the company’s current chief operating officer, as its next CEO, effective November 1, 2025.

Srini Gopalan will replace Mike Sievert, who will become T-Mobile's vice chairman, while continuing to support the company’s CEO and leadership team, advising on matters of long-term strategy, innovation, talent development and external relations.

Under Sievert’s leadership, T-Mobile added more than $200 billion in market capitalization, making it the world’s most valuable telecommunications company.

Gopalan’s appointment follows a multi-year succession planning process. Before T-Mobile, Gopalan was CEO of Deutsche Telekom’s Germany business.

Last month, the company announced that T-Mobile President of Technology Ulf Ewaldsson was retiring and that Callie Field, president of T-Mobile Business Group, will step down on September 30.

T-Mobile shares edged 0.3% lower to close at $237.42 on Monday.
