Yandal Resources Managing Director Chris Oorschot talked with Proactive about the company’s latest drill results at the Arrakis Prospect, part of the Ironstone Well-Barwidgee Gold Project.
Oorschot explained that Yandal recently completed a reverse circulation drilling program to test beneath earlier aircore intercepts along the 2.2-kilometre Arrakis trend. The first results, he said, were “headlined by 54 metres at 1.2 grams per tonne, including 24 metres at 2.1 grams per tonne,” which he described as an excellent outcome for the project.
He added that the assays marked a significant milestone as they confirmed continuity of mineralisation from the weathered zone into fresh rock, with higher grades and widths than those seen in earlier shallow drilling. According to Oorschot, this opens up strong potential along the full strike length of the prospect within the Yandal greenstone belt.
Looking ahead, Yandal has scheduled a second heritage survey for later this month and plans to mobilize a diamond rig in October. Oorschot said the company will re-enter some RC holes and conduct further drilling once clearances are obtained, with the aim of generating more results as 2025 progresses.
