Uranium Outlook: Yellow Cake CEO on market drivers - One2One Investor Forum

Yellow Cake Executive Director & CEO Andre Liebenberg talked with Proactive about the company’s uranium strategy, its simple operating model, and the key forces behind rising demand for nuclear fuel.

Since listing in 2018, Yellow Cake has acquired nearly 22 million pounds of uranium, up from an initial 8 million, with the spot price climbing from $21 to over $76. “Our asset value today is $1.5 billion US,” Liebenberg said. The company maintains a low-cost model, with just two employees and a cost base under 1% of NAV.

He explained how energy transition goals, growing global reactor fleets, and data centre power demands are pushing uranium demand to grow between 4–6% per year. Meanwhile, supply remains constrained due to underinvestment and operational delays.

Yellow Cake holds physical uranium in bonded storage in Canada and France. It does not speculate or hedge, and only issues equity when shares trade at or above NAV. “We buy and hold,” Liebenberg stated.
