Fulcrum Metal shares jump as tailings project advances

Fulcrum Metals Plc (LSE:FMET) shares soared in Wednesday's trade after announcing the start of its Phase Three optimisation work at the Teck-Hughes tailings project in Kirkland Lake, Ontario.

The programme with Extrakt Process Solutions aims to refine cyanide-free leaching technology and recovery methods for gold and silver.

Results are expected in December, and the findings are expected to feed into a technical report and support a Phase Four preliminary feasibility study.

"This detailed metallurgical work will adapt and scale up the Extrakt technology to ensure optimised metal recovery," said chief executive Ryan Mee.

He added: "I look forward to updating shareholders as the current workstreams are progressed and further workstreams are brought online to move Teck Hughes towards that construction decision."

In London, Fulcrum shares were up around 23% changing hands at 5.98p.
