Microsoft lifts dividend by 10%

Microsoft Corp (NASDAQ:MSFT) shares were stronger after hours after it raised its quarterly dividend by 10%, declaring a payout of 91 cents a share, up 8 cents from the previous quarter.

The dividend will be paid on December 11, 2025, to investors on the register as of November 20, which is also the ex-dividend date.

The world’s largest software company also set December 5 as the date for its 2025 annual shareholders’ meeting.

The meeting will take place virtually and feature presentations from Satya Nadella, chairman and chief executive; Amy Hood, chief financial officer; Brad Smith, vice chair and president; and Sandra Peterson, the company’s lead independent director.

Dividend growth is a key marker for the tech group, which has steadily returned cash to investors as earnings have climbed on the back of cloud computing and artificial intelligence.

The latest increase extends a long run of annual hikes and underscores confidence in the strength of the balance sheet.
