Gelion 'very pleased' with Battery Minerals business

Gelion PLC (AIM:GELN) highlighted significant progress for its subsidiary, Battery Minerals Ltd, which is seeing over 95% lithium recovery from battery waste analogues using its proprietary recycling technology.

Initial tests on partner-supplied black mass also achieved over 80% lithium recovery, it added.

The process, developed from a Johnson Matthey technology package acquired in 2023, uses non-toxic reagents under moderate conditions, enabling ultra-high extraction with lower environmental impact.

"We are very pleased with the strong systematic process," said CEO John Wood.

"The team delivering this, led by Jacob Carpenter, is being very effective in developing its proprietary value proposition to support future independent funding."

In London, Gelion shares began Monday's session sharply stronger, rising as high as 22p in early deals. After 10:00 am, the price had slipped back to 19p, down slightly for the day.
