Genflow shares jump 10% on confidentiality talks

Shares in Genflow Biosciences PLC (LSE:GENF, OTCQB:GENFF) climbed 10% on Monday after the London-listed biotech announced talks with two major animal health companies to explore the use of its longevity research in pets.

The company, which is the only quoted group in Europe focused on ageing, said the confidentiality agreements will allow it to exchange data and begin talks over potential collaborations.

Genflow is developing a gene therapy based on a variant of the SIRT6 gene, associated with people who live beyond 100 years.

It is already testing the treatment in beagles through its GF-1004 dog ageing study, where no safety issues have been reported to date.

The new partnerships aim to assess whether the same approach could extend the healthy lifespan of dogs and other companion animals, a sector that has grown rapidly as owners spend more on advanced treatments.

Eric Leire, chief executive, said the deals reflect “strong industry interest” and could pave the way for licensing agreements and eventual commercialisation.

Genflow added that partnering with a larger pharmaceutical group would accelerate market access by providing regulatory expertise and established distribution networks.

The shares rose 0.089p to 0.94p.
