Mining services provider Emeco Holdings Ltd (ASX: EHL) has responded to media speculation, confirming that it has received unsolicited approaches from several potential acquirers.
The company acknowledged a report in The Australian newspaper suggesting discussions were underway regarding a possible control transaction. In an ASX statement, Emeco confirmed engagement with a number of parties but clarified that “no party has put forward a proposal which warrants being progressed to a binding proposal.”
The company noted that it will keep shareholders updated on any material developments in accordance with its continuous disclosure obligations.
Shares in Emeco spiked 9.3% to A$1.18 following the confirmation, marking a four-year high. The surge followed the report in The Australian’s DataRoom column, which flagged takeover interest in the group.
