American Resources boosts rare earth recycling with Electrified Materials breakthrough – ICYMI

American Resources Corp (NASDAQ:AREC) CEO Mark Jensen talked with Proactive about a technological breakthrough by subsidiary Electrified Materials Corporation, which focuses on processing e-waste to extract valuable components for rare earth refinement.

The process innovation centers on efficiently separating rare earth magnets from shredded hard drives—an e-waste stream that is becoming increasingly important as data centers grow.

Jensen described the method as a "simple solution" that avoids unnecessary complexity and feeds directly into the company’s ReElement Technologies division for further refining.

Electrified Materials acts as a preprocessor, turning recycled materials into concentrates. These concentrates are then refined by ReElement into ultra-high-purity oxides such as neodymium (Nd), praseodymium (NdPr), dysprosium (Dy), and terbium (Tb).

“Separated purified oxides are extremely important when it comes to making new rare earth magnets,” Jensen said.

This internal integration supports American Resources Corp’s broader goal of building a fully domestic and secure rare earth supply chain.

Jensen added that partnerships are in development to source more shredded hard drives, which could improve both scalability and supply reliability.
