Rockfire Resources lifted as investors look forward to new drilling

Rockfire Resources PLC (LSE:ROCK) shares rose in Thursday's early trade, after it announced the start of diamond drilling at its 100%-owned Molaoi zinc deposit in Greece.

The company confirmed that the drill rig has arrived on site and will be positioned over the weekend, ready for the start of drilling on Monday, 15 September.

It will include 30 holes with depths ranging from 200 to 450 metres, totalling approximately 10,000 metres of drilling. The aim is to upgrade the resource from Inferred to Indicated category, and to define a maiden Inferred resource for germanium.

“It is with great pleasure that we announce the restart of drilling at Molaoi,” said CEO David Price.

"The board and Management look forward to bringing you a flow of good news as our drilling advances."

Drilling is expected to continue until at least February.

In London, Rockfire shares climbed more than 6%, changing hands at 0.29p.
