CoreWeave (Nasdaq: CRWV) shares gained 8% to about $100 in early Tuesday trading after the cloud infrastructure company announced that it has launched a venture fund to invest in artificial intelligence (AI) startups.
CoreWeave’s newly created CoreWeave Ventures fund will offer company founders a wide variety of capital investment models to help companies scale, offer access to the CoreWeave cloud platform, and provide insights on product and go-to-market strategies shaped by CoreWeave’s relationships with hundreds of enterprises and AI-first organizations.
“We started CoreWeave with the conviction that AI’s true promise required a cloud platform built from the ground up to optimize for AI-specific workloads,” CoreWeave co-founder Brannin McBee said in a statement.
“Our aim with CoreWeave Ventures is to give other audacious, like-minded founders the support they need to drive technical advancements and bring to market the next class of innovation.”
CoreWeave said its CoreWeave Ventures fund will help enable founders to bring new ideas to market faster.
CoreWeave shares have soared about 154% year to date after going public at $40 a share in late March 2025.
