Entain PLC (LSE:ENT), the owner of Ladbrokes and Coral, is looking to slim down abroad even as it reshuffles its marketing closer to home.
Bloomberg reported that the group plans to sell its Venues business in Australia, which runs six in-venue brands, the best known being the Australian Poker League.
The poker outfit claims around 850,000 annual players, but no numbers have been given on the value of the unit or its contribution to group revenues.
Citi, which flagged the reports, said the disposal would not move the dial financially, though it could provide a small boost to the shares by signalling strategic re-focus.
Australia matters to Entain, contributing 10% of online net gaming revenue in the first half of 2025, making it the company’s second biggest market.
Even so, the Venues arm looks peripheral alongside its core online operations, and Citi’s analysts do not expect the divestment to have a material effect on group earnings.
Back in the UK, Entain has completed a shake-up of its £90 million media buying and planning account.
According to the trade press, Omnicom-owned PHD has won the seven-month pitch process and will take over from The7stars.
The new mandate, covering Ladbrokes, Coral, FoxyBingo, Gala and PartyPoker, begins in January 2026.
The move follows Ladbrokes handing its advertising brief to Atomic London earlier this year, replacing incumbent Neverland.
Entain now runs campaigns through a mix of external agencies and its in-house team.
The shake-up comes at a time of growing political pressure on gambling advertising.
