PathKey.AI executive chairman Saurabh Jain talked with Proactive about the company’s AI-driven clinical trial prediction platform, TrialKey, and its recently released real-world validation results.
TrialKey leverages a dataset of nearly half a million historical clinical trials, with approximately 1,500 variables per trial, to provide a predictive model for clinical trial outcomes. Jain said, “We can tell you with about 92% accuracy why the clinical trial will succeed or fail before it starts.”
The platform helps biotech companies design more robust trials by identifying key variables such as patient numbers, dosage, and trial locations. For investors, it offers insights into the likelihood of trial success, enabling more informed investment decisions.
Jain noted that PathKey-AI recently released its first monthly outcomes report, showing that a portfolio based on TrialKey's predictions would have gained around 75% over six months. The company aims to continue publishing these reports to validate its thesis that trial outcomes have a direct impact on the share price of small-cap biotech firms.
Looking ahead, Jain believes AI will become a standard pre-screening tool in clinical trial design and decision-making. He said, “There’ll be much better allocation of capital... you're going to put your money where you think the trial is most likely going to succeed.”
