American Resources Corp (NASDAQ:AREC) announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Electrified Materials, has developed a scalable recycling platform to extract rare earth elements from e-waste, including speakers, power tools, and hard drives.
The company said the process separates materials by density and hardness, creating a clean mixed rare earth powder.
That powder is supplied to ReElement Technologies, another American Resources subsidiary, for refinement into separated oxides with purity levels ranging from 99.5% to 99.999%.
The resulting materials are intended for commercial and defense manufacturing.
Electrified Materials controls more than 135 acres of industrial property across Indiana and eastern Kentucky to support its expansion into disposition services and recycling of rare earth magnets, lithium-ion batteries, and defense metals.
The company noted that the initiative is designed to strengthen US supply chain independence, leverage legacy mining and industrial assets, and provide a recycling and refining pathway for critical inputs.
"We're scaling up rare earth oxide production to meet surging demand from the US magnet and defense sectors. Our approach is simple, cost-effective, and deployable nationwide,” American Resources CEO Mark Jensen said in a statement.
“By combining Electrified Materials' novel recycling methods with ReElement's leading refining capabilities, we're building a vertically integrated circular solution for critical mineral recovery.”
