Krakatoa Resources has mobilised a second drill rig at its Zopkhito antimony-gold (Sb-Au) Project in Georgia, Eastern Europe.
The company holds an exclusive option to acquire up to 80% of the granted mining licence at Zopkhito. With the second drill rig now active, the company is expanding its maiden drilling program to 7,000–10,000 metres.
The aim of the program is to test the mineralised zones between historical Soviet-era adits where high-grade antimony and gold samples were previously identified. Drilling will also assess mineralisation continuity, investigate the extent of gold alteration systems, and evaluate quartz–antimony vein development.
“Having a second drill rig commencing on-site so soon after the first one commenced last week is a very positive step in building momentum across our maiden drilling program at Zopkhito," Major said.
He added that the dual-rig setup will help validate historical data while progressing towards establishing a JORC-compliant Mineral Resource.
The drilling is expected to play a key role in modernising the historical resource and shaping Krakatoa’s future exploration plans for the project.
