Gear4music Holdings PLC (AIM:G4M) shares jumped more than 9% after the company reported a strong start to its financial year.
In an AGM statement, the UK’s largest musical instrument retailer said first-quarter revenues rose 27% year-on-year, with sales momentum continuing into Q2. Management pointed to the impact of its Growth Strategy and a more favourable competitive backdrop in the UK and Europe.
Executive chair Andrew Wass said the strategy is delivering “tangible results” and highlighted the company’s success in gaining market share.
The board has once again raised expectations for the year to 31 March 2026, after an earlier upgrade in June. Before today’s announcement, consensus forecasts for FY26 were revenues of £155.8 million, EBITDA of £11.3 million and profit before tax of £3 million.
A trading update for the six months to 30 September is scheduled for 21 October, with interim results due on 18 November.
In London, Gear4music's shares traded 25p up at £1.90.
