Oxford BioDynamics PLC (AIM:OBD, OTC:OXBOF) shares strengthened on Thursday, after the health diagnostics company reported that its EpiSwitch CiRT blood test was shown to influence clinical decisions in more than 60% of cases.
The finding came via interim results from the ongoing PROWES study. Published in the journal Cancers, the study assessed 205 patients across a broad range of advanced solid tumours.
Oxford BioDynamics said the study found that oncologists used CiRT results to initiate, escalate, de-escalate, or avoid treatment. Among patients with a low probability score, nearly half avoided ineffective therapy, while three-quarters with a high score continued or escalated therapy.
“The PROWES results represent a significant milestone,” said chief operating officer Thomas Guiel.
In London, Oxford BioDynamics shares climbed 11% changing hands at 0.5p.
