Gunnison Copper achieves first copper production at Johnson Camp Mine in Arizona

Gunnison Copper Corp (TSX:GCU, OTCQB:GCUMF) announced that it has achieved the first production of pure copper cathode from its fully-operational Johnson Camp Mine in Arizona during the last week of August 2025.

The multi-asset pure-play copper developer and producer said it realized its production goal ahead of schedule, firmly establishing the company as America's newest copper producer.

"To bring Johnson Camp into production ahead of schedule and with an excellent health and safety record is an achievement we're extremely proud of," Gunnison Copper CEO Stephen Twyerould said in a statement.

"Even more exciting is that we are now producing 100% American-made copper at a time when our nation needs it most."

Gunnison noted that it was fully funded and supported by its partner Nuton LLC, a Rio Tinto venture, which was awarded US$13.9 million in 48C tax credits from the Department of Energy.

The company added that it has made progress towards ramping up the name plate plant capacity of 25 million pounds of finished copper cathode annually.

The Gunnison Copper Project has a Measured and Indicated Mineral Resource containing over 831.6 million tons with a total copper grade of 0.31%.
