Gelion shares rise with completion of tech transfer

Gelion PLC (AIM:GELN) traded up in Wednesday morning's deals, after the AIM-quoted battery firm announced it had completed the transfer of sulfur cathode active material technology into its Sydney facility.

The move provides the company with in-house fabrication and scale-up capability. It added that the development will enable higher volumes for multiple partner trials, accelerate collaboration and shorten feedback cycles.

“We are very pleased with the progress that has been achieved here working in collaboration with MPI," said chief executive John Wood.

He added: "Gelion is making progress with understanding and releasing the potential of this exceptional technology, such as that described in the recent release about the performance of our Li-S and Na-S technology."

In London, Gelion shares were up just over 7% changing hands at 22p, having set a new 12-month high of 23p in earlier exchanges.
