Astral Resources Managing Director Marc Ducler talked with Proactive about the latest in-fill reverse circulation (RC) drilling results at the Iris Deposit, part of the 100%-owned Mandilla Gold Project near Kalgoorlie, Western Australia.
The second phase of in-fill drilling has delivered several high-grade gold intercepts, including 4 metres at 21.3g/t Au from 91m and 2 metres at 12.8g/t Au from 120m in hole MDRC983. These intercepts fall outside the current Pre-Feasibility Study pit designs, suggesting further upside potential for the Mandilla resource base.
The company completed 19 RC holes totalling 2,971 metres, extending the 40m x 20m in-fill coverage area to 140m x 360m. Broader zones of mineralisation were also intersected, such as 21 metres at 1.59g/t Au and 23 metres at 1.00g/t Au, providing continuity to the known higher-grade core of the deposit.
Ducler said, “These high-grade results will complement the next resource update at Iris, with further drilling to the south currently being planned.”
In-fill drilling is now underway at the Theia Deposit, and additional exploration is ongoing across the Spargoville and Feysville projects.
