Reconnaissance Energy Africa reveals drilling update for Kavango West 1X well in Namibia

Reconnaissance Energy Africa Ltd (TSX-V:RECO, OTCQX:RECAF) provided a drilling update on the Kavango West 1X exploration well in Namibia, which spud on July 31, 2025.

The Canadian oil and gas company said the well is currently drilling the 8.5-inch section at a depth of about 1,910 metres (m).

"Drilling remains on schedule, we expect to reach total depth by the end of November," Reconnaissance Energy Africa CEO Brian Reinsborough said in a statement.

"We anticipate entering the Otavi reservoir, the primary target for the Damara Fold Belt Play, in October and plan to penetrate over 1,500 metres of potential reservoir section before reaching total depth."

Reinsborough also noted that he expects to report the well results around year-end.

The company added that the next, and final, casing string will be set at approximately 2,400m before drilling penetrates the Otavi reservoir zone in October.

The drill plan includes drilling about 1,500m of the Otavi reservoir before reaching a total depth of around 3,800m to 4,250m by the end of November 2025, Reconnaissance Energy Africa stated.
