Lightning Minerals Ltd managing director Alex Biggs talked with Proactive about the company’s upcoming first-ever drilling program at the Mt Turner Gold Project in Queensland, kicking off mid-September. The campaign will target multiple high-priority gold zones beneath historic pits, aiming to unlock deeper mineralisation potential along the 14-kilometre-long Drummer Fault.
Biggs said: “We’re looking forward to starting our first drill campaign at Mt Turner. There are multiple targets which the team has a high degree of confidence in.” He added that complementary exploration including soil sampling and reconnaissance is underway to refine future drill targets.
The company recently acquired Lotus Minerals, securing Mt Turner, and has appointed GeoDrill Australia as drilling contractor. Historic drilling at the site intersected impressive grades, but deeper zones remain largely untested.
Alongside Mt Turner, Lightning continues exploration at lithium and base metals projects in Brazil, Canada, and Western Australia, highlighting its diversified focus.
