Yandal Resources launches RC drilling at Arrakis prospect

Yandal Resources Ltd (ASX:YRL) has kicked off a reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at the Arrakis prospect, part of its large-scale Caladan target within the Ironstone Well-Barwidgee Gold Project in Western Australia.

The approximately 2,000-metre campaign will include six to 10 RC holes testing beneath broad-spaced air-core intercepts that have already defined more than 2.2 kilometres of mineralisation along the Arrakis trend.

Recent air-core drilling highlights included:

  • 11 metres at 2.1 g/t gold from 90 metres, including 7 metres at 3.1 g/t gold (hole 25IWBAC023);
  • 12 metres at 1.1 g/t gold from 45 metres (hole 25IWBAC032);
  • 11 metres at 1.4 g/t gold from 71 metres, including 6 metres at 2.3 g/t gold (hole 25IWBAC044); and
  • 22 metres at 0.5 g/t gold from 75 metres, including 7 metres at 1.2 g/t gold (hole 25IWBAC099).

The locations of effective historic drilling (>20m depth, excluding all Eagle Mining and Hunter Resources RAB drilling from 1995) and all Yandal drilling are plotted. Collars are thematically coloured by max Au (g/t) in the hole. Collars coloured black represent holes that have been drilled, with assays yet to be received.

Building on strong momentum

The fresh RC program is designed to confirm continuity of mineralisation into fresh rock and to define the geometry of the host structures at Arrakis, following up on the encouraging shallow results reported in July and August.

Located within tenements E 53/1843, E 53/2304, E 53/2192 and E 53/1882, Arrakis forms part of the broader Caladan area — a high-priority exploration target sitting 60 kilometres south of Northern Star’s Jundee mining complex and 18 kilometres north of the recent Siona discovery in the Yandal Greenstone Belt.

Yandal has been systematically advancing the Caladan project throughout 2025, with air-core drilling defining significant strike extensions. In August, the company confirmed the mineralised Arrakis structure stretched beyond 2.2 kilometres, underscoring the potential scale of the system.

Busy exploration pipeline

The RC program is expected to be completed within 10 to 16 days, with assays anticipated in five to seven weeks. Results from the remaining 14 holes of the large-scale Caladan air-core program are also due in the coming weeks.

Heritage surveys are scheduled to commence this month to clear 200-metre spaced lines across the Arrakis prospect, paving the way for tighter-spaced drilling and further follow-up work.

Beyond Arrakis, Yandal is planning additional phases of air-core and RC drilling later this year, alongside first results from drilling at the New England Granite target area. The company is also finalising the A$2.81 million sale of its Gordons Gold Project to Horizon Minerals, which will further strengthen its balance sheet.

About Yandal

Yandal Resources holds a portfolio of advanced exploration assets in the Yandal Greenstone Belt, a highly prospective region of Western Australia known for hosting multi-million-ounce gold deposits.

The company maintains a strong cash position and says it remains well placed to deliver steady exploration news flow through the second half of 2025.
