Far East Gold identifies new gold-bearing zones at North Bermol

Far East Gold Ltd (ASX:FEG) has discovered new gold mineralised zones at the North Bermol prospect, located 1.5 kilometres northwest of ongoing drilling at Bermol.

Recent geological mapping outlined quartz veins and boudins up to 1 metre thick, with assays from grab samples returning grades of up to 25.9 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 7.8 g/t silver from sulphide-bearing quartz veins across a 15-metre outcrop. The mineralisation, dipping at about 20 degrees, is consistent with Bermol and supports the interpretation of a four-kilometre northeast-trending structural corridor.

The discovery enhances the potential for further high-grade zones across the corridor, adding to the exploration upside at Bermol and the broader Idenburg Project.

Mapping confirms new mineralised quartz veins

Detailed mapping at North Bermol revealed sulphide-bearing quartz veins and boudins within northwest-trending structures, differing from the northeast-trending shear zones seen at Bermol.

This opens new target areas for the Phase 1 drill program.

Samples returned assays including 25.9 g/t gold with 7.8 g/t silver from oxidised outcrops containing arsenopyrite, and 6.75 g/t gold with 4.9 g/t silver and 0.16% copper from shear zones with abundant sulphides. These results indicate a strong link to the mineralised corridor and highlight additional exploration targets that may be incorporated into ongoing drilling.

Advancing exploration targets Nova and Tekai

Far East Gold will continue mapping and sampling at Nova, north of the Sua prospect, and Tekai, west of Mafi.

Historical sampling from these prospects returned encouraging results, with Nova delivering outcrop assays of 3.9 g/t and 9.0 g/t gold over 1 metre, while Tekai produced chip samples of 58.2 g/t and 79.8 g/t gold from quartz veins 800 metres apart.

These high-grade indications demonstrate further scope for expanding the company’s exploration pipeline. By integrating new data with historic results, the company aims to refine drill targets and broaden the understanding of mineralisation across the Idenburg tenement.

Expanding high-grade potential across Idenburg

The North Bermol results confirm the presence of high-grade gold mineralisation within a structural corridor that extends at least four kilometres.

Recognition of additional fault and shear zones is considered significant, as their orientation and timing are closely tied to gold deposition.

These findings build confidence in the scale of the Idenburg Project, which has already been supported by historical exploration and the Independent Exploration Target Report released in August 2024. Together, these results suggest the potential for a large mineralised system hosting multiple prospects, positioning Far East Gold for further resource growth as exploration advances.
