Empyrean Energy PLC (AIM:EME) told investors on Tueasday that CEO Tom Kelly had passed away.
The board of the oil and gas development company said Kelly was the victim of a tragic accident on August 22.
"On behalf of the Board and all at Empyrean we extend our sincerest condolences to Tom's family and friends. Tom was much loved and respected and will be dearly missed by everyone at Empyrean," said chairman John (Spencer) Laycock.
Technical director Gaz Bisht has been appointed interim CEO, effective immediately.
The board said it will conduct a search process for a permanent CEO in due course.
