The S&P/ASX 200 retreated on Tuesday, slipping 36.80 points, or 0.41%, to close at 8,935.60 after touching a fresh 52-week high earlier in the session. The weakest performers were IMDEX Limited, down 13.70%, and Deterra Royalties Limited, down 6.85%. Despite the pullback, the benchmark remains 0.44% higher over the past five sessions and sits just 1.31% below its 52-week peak.
The S&P/ASX Small Ordinaries Index (XSO) edged up 4.30 points, or 0.12%, to 3,569.80 on the day, extending its five-day advance to 2.29%.
