Hive Digital’s Buzz HPC and Bell Canada launch sovereign AI cloud - ICYMI

HIVE Digital Technologies (TSX-V:HIVE, NASDAQ:HIVE)’s Buzz HPC president and CEO Craig Tavares talked with Proactive about the company’s new partnership with Bell Canada, aimed at building one of the largest sovereign AI and GPU cloud platforms in the country.

The agreement brings together Buzz HPC’s AI cloud infrastructure with Bell’s expansive telecom network and data center capabilities, offering nationwide coverage and a Canadian-sovereign platform for advanced digital infrastructure.

Tavares explained, “What we're doing is we're partnering and teaming up with Bell Canada to deliver one of the largest sovereign platforms that Canada will ever see.”

He highlighted how the collaboration ensures a 100% Canadian-sovereign solution, suitable not only for domestic needs but also with a global reach, given Buzz HPC’s international client base.

Buzz HPC is a certified NVIDIA cloud partner, and its infrastructure supports training and fine-tuning AI models on state-of-the-art GPU clusters.

With 135,000 GPUs under management globally, the company will begin its rollout with a 5-megawatt deployment in Winnipeg, with further expansion across Canada in scope.

Tavares noted that Bell’s data centers allow the company to scale its GPU infrastructure quickly and efficiently, creating a “winning combination” of cloud and telecom capabilities.
